The summer months in Europe and the Americas are over, and it is now back-to-school time for the kids. Leaves on trees will start to change colors, the days will become shorter, and the weather will start to turn cold soon. Now is time for the last golf rounds of the year and time to start making this winter’s golfing plans. There are only four months left in 2018!

In Asia, we are in the midst of the “green season” with heavy afternoon showers being the norm. The good news is that rains usually come late in the day and hardly affect things as golfers are already back at the clubhouse, hotel, or 19th hole relaxing and reflecting on the days match.

Moreover, the golf courses are green and annual maintenance over. Low season prices are in effect and fast under four-hour rounds are common. It’s hard to beat!

Golfasian has been busy updating our tours for the high season and re-inspecting the area golf courses and resorts. Next month will be a big travel period for me. I will be visiting 10 of Vietnam’s newest golf courses, many of which are just in the first opening phases. Then we have the Accor Vietnam World Masters, which is a sell-out for the 4th year. Our newest event goes on the back of the Vietnam Maters. It’s a singles event in Pattaya, and we will be playing all of the Siam CC courses as usual. Finally, I will be taking off for central Japan and Tokyo for two weeks at the end of the month on sales calls, agent meetings, and even more golf course inspections. Stay tuned for all of the course updates.

While some say that Asia’s incredible golf courses are the main attractions, its really the rich cultural experiences and very friendly locals encountered along the way that often leaves the fondest impressions. Just consider the caddie experience, and you will know what I mean.
