Usher in good fortune with the Loy Krathong Festival at Angsana Laguna Phuket

Phuket, Thailand, October 2018 – On Thursday 22 November 2018, Angsana Laguna Phuket invites you to celebrate one of Thailand’s biggest cultural festivals, Loy Krathong, with special dining promotions, Krathong-making classes and a floating ceremony on the resort’s breath-taking lagoon.

.

.

At THB 250 per person, start the day’s celebrations by learning how to design and make your own Krathong. Take your cultural experience up a notch in the evening with an authentic Thai set dinner from THB 990++ per person at the resort’s signature restaurant, Baan Talay. As a special gift, each table will receive one Krathong. At the end of dinner, make your way to the resort’s jetty and participate in the floating ceremony. Under the bright moon, make a wish, release your Krathongs, and watch them light up the lagoon.

.

.

Also known as the festival of lights, Loy Krathong falls on the full moon night of the twelfth lunar month when the moon is at its brightest and the tides are at their highest. It is traditionally a festival to pay respects to the Water Goddess, thanking her for a year of great supply. The Krathongs themselves are baskets containing flowers, incense and candles. They are lit and floated away to symbolize letting go of bad luck and embarking on a fresh start.
