Bangkok Airways Organizes “We Love You – Koh Samui” Activity

Building fish homes and releasing aquatic animal in Koh Samui

Koh Samui – Recently, Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited led by Mr.Nijjapat Piyapant, Vice President – Airport (5th from left) together with Ban Mae Nam community and Department of Fisheries Surat Thani organized a CSR activity “We Love You – Koh Samui” building fish homes to serve as marine nursery areas for sea life and releasing aquatic animal. The activity is under the Bangkok Airways’s “Love Earth Save Earth” campaign which aims to give knowledge and enhance a sense of conservation of marine and coastal resources to the local people of Koh Samui as Koh Samui is one of Thailand’s major tourist destinations that draws in millions of tourists from around the world. The opening ceremony was attended by Acting Sub Lt.Kittipop Roddon, Samui District Chief (5th from right), Mr.Natthawoot Kaewmeesri, Deputy Mayor of Koh Samui Municipality (4th from right), Mr.Vichai Somrup, Office of Resource Management by Sea and Coast 5 (Surat thani) (3rd from right), Mr.Pitak Chancharoen, Koh Samui Fishery District (2nd from right), Mr.Vorasit Pongkumpunt, President of the Tourism Association of Koh Samui (1st from left), Mr.Silchai Vanitjaroun, Represent Ban Mea nam Koh Samui (1st from right). Urassaya Yaya Sperbund, a famous Thai actress and Bangkok Airways’ brand ambassador, together with airline’s executives and volunteers at Wat Na Phra Lan Pagoda, Koh Samui, Surat Thani province.

Mr.Nijjapat Piyapant, Vice President – Airport, Bangkok Airways said “Bangkok Airways has been organizing numerous environmental-focused projects under “Love Earth, Save Earth” campaign with an aim to build a network of collaboration to look after the environment together with improving the quality of life of people in the community, especially the community around our owned-airports; Samui, Sukhothai and Trat”

“We Love You – Koh Samui” is one of the activities we organize to emphasis the importance of Koh Samui’s environment. This activity not only helped conserve and restore marine habitat, coastal resources but it also helped strengthen the relationship between the airline and local community in Koh Samui.”
