Phuket, Thailand – Award-winning Australian artist Zoe Young will be unveiling her Salt Life collection of paintings for the first time in Thailand at the opening exhibition of Baan Kata Arts Fest, held at Mom Tris Villa Royale on Phukets Kata Noi Beach from 23 January 2017.

Through her use of pastel tones and dramatic shadow, Zoes still life compositions reflect an emotive response to the environment in which she paints. The National Art School (Sydney) graduate adapts her eccentric colour palate as a tool to evoke the characteristics of her subject matter.

“It’s an honor to be invited to share my lifes passion of painting. Having spent most of my childhood summers in Sydney, Salt Life represents a carefree season of joy by the ocean, a sentiment that is undoubtedly shared by residents and visitors to Phuket.” said Ms. Young.

The first Baan Kata Arts Fest was organized 19 years ago by TL Tri Devakul (Mom Tri) and HE Adm. ML Usni Pramoj to bring together artists and musicians in celebration of the arts. The theme for the Baan Kata Arts Fest 2017 is particularly poignant, as it is staged in remembrance of His Majesty the late King Bhumibols love of music and arts.

In addition to Ms. Youngs painting exhibition, there will also be a classical music concert by Pro Musica Ensemble, comprising Ekachai Jearakul (guitar), Tasana Nagavajara (violin), and Worapon Kanweerayothin (flute).

Zoe Young will be meeting guests in person at the gallery over the events cocktail reception, which opens at 6 p.m. The classical music concert starts at 7 p.m.

Baan Kata Arts Fest will take place on Monday, 23 January 2017 at Mom Tris Villa Royale, Kata Noi Beach. For more information and for reservation of concert tickets (THB 500), please contact[email protected] or +66 (0)76 333 568.
