Hua Hin, Thailand 20 January 2020 – Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa, the stylish beachside retreat on Thailand’s glittering gulf coast, has teamed up with Siam Winery, Thailand’s leading wine producer, to host an immersive event that includes a harvest tour of the famous Monsoon Valley Vineyard, followed by a fantastic five-course dinner.

This unique experience starts with a half-day visit to Monsoon Valley, which has helped to put Thailand firmly on the “new world” wine map. Covering over 110 hectares of farmland just outside Hua Hin, this vineyard produces a selection of award-winning wines, including red, white, rose and sparkling varieties.

During their visit, guests will be able to learn all about the Thai wine-making process, harvest the latest crop of grapes, as well as experience the traditional barefoot grape pressing. At the end of the tour, all participants will be able to blend different types of wine for tasting, along with tasty tapas.

Returning to the resort, guests will be treated to a fantastic fine-dining dinner at Big Fish & Bar, Hua Hin Marriott Resort & Spa’s signature beachfront restaurant. Head chef Alexander Horwat and his team of culinary experts have created a mouth-watering menu that has been specifically designed to be paired with Monsoon Valley’s premium wines.

Diners will be greeted with a delicate amuse bouche from Chef Alexander, accompanied by Monsoon Signature Sparkling Brut Prestige NV sparkling wine as a welcome drink. This is followed by local rock lobster, slowly poached in brown butter and served with yuzu, mango and sesame – an exquisite Asian-inspired dish that is perfectly paired with Monsoon Premium Colombard 2019, a crisp white with apple and citrus notes.

The fish course of barracuda fillet with cauliflower, miso and green asparagus is complemented by Monsoon Signature White 2019, a high-quality Chenin Blanc with a lingering finish. This light and vibrant dish is the ideal preparation for the rich and hearty main course of slow-braised wagyu beef cheek with vanilla, potato and carrots, which is accompanied by a similarly deep and fruity Monsoon Premium Shiraz.

This five-course feast concludes with a warm fig crumble cake, infused with cinnamon and served with a glass of Monsoon Flagship Muscat, a deliciously sweet and well-balanced wine – the ideal way to end the evening.

Priced at THB 2,900++ per person, this occasion will take place on 21st February 2020 from 13.30 to 22.00 hrs, and will include the vineyard tour, five-course dinner at Big Fish & Bar, and a bottle of Monsoon Prestige Brut sparkling wine per person.
