New restaurant launched in late July, located on the tenth floor of JR Hakata City, a major downtown shopping mall with direct access to Fukuoka’s main railway station

BANGKOK, THAILAND (22 August, 2019) – Mango Tree Restaurants Worldwide, the leading Asian restaurant operator, has expanded its footprint in Japan with the opening of its first Mango Tree Bistro in Fukuoka, introducing a new era of fun and dynamic Thai dining to the country.
 
Mango Tree Bistro Hakata officially launched on 26th July 2019, becoming the 26th location in the group’s fast-growing Japanese portfolio. Set on the tenth floor of JR Hakata City in downtown Fukuoka, directly above the city’s main railway station, this stylish new restaurant can accommodate up to 64 guests with a relaxed indoor dining area and a chic outdoor terrace. This prime location is expected to attract a wide range of diners, including groups of friends, local shoppers, office workers and travellers at Hakata Station, Fukuoka’s main railway hub, giving the restaurant a lively atmosphere and a high footfall.
 
Mango Tree Bistro Hakata will offer a menu of market-fresh contemporary Thai tapas dishes and creative cocktails. In line with the brand’s modern culinary concept, chefs will use authentic ingredients to craft delicious lunchtime and evening menus that embrace the flavours and fragrances of Thailand.

Open daily for lunch and dinner, Mango Tree Bistro Hakata will offer a “Thai with a twist” culinary concept, with many dishes that Japanese diners know and love. The lunchtime set menus will include favourites such as gai yang khao niao (barbecued chicken with sticky rice), phad grapao (minced chicken with Thai basil on rice, topped with a fried egg) and khao mun gai (boiled chicken and rice), plus noodles and soups.

In the evening, diners can discover exquisite appetisers and spicy salads, followed by a choice of meats and seafood, including whole fish cooked either with fresh lime or sweet and sour sauce. Chicken is a hugely popular dish in Fukuoka and Kyushu, and the restaurant’s specialty is the free-range rotisserie chicken, which is freshly grilled in a choice of two mouth-watering styles: Thai BBQ and Hakata Ichiban Dori, a succulent local recipe. Half and whole chickens are available, which are perfect for sharing. A range of rice and noodle options is also available, and every meal can be accompanied by a selection of delectable desserts.
 
This vibrant venue also allows guests to socialise with a wide range of delicious drinks and creative cocktails, including the signature coriander mojito, spicy gin tonic, and sangria with fresh Thai herbs. Guests can cool off with exclusive Cuervo tequila frozen margaritas and cool beer or wine cocktails. These are available alongside fresh and frozen fruit juices, hot or cold teas, Thai and Japanese beers, whiskies and wines, plus traditional shochu and sake.
 
Mango Tree has developed a strategy of launching new restaurants in areas with high pedestrian traffic. This has proven especially successful in Japan, where its brands can now be found in important transport hubs and retail malls nationwide. In Fukuoka, the company already operates Mango Tree Café in the Solaria Plaza, another popular downtown shopping centre.
 
Mango Tree Worldwide is currently undergoing a period of significant expansion, with the aim of increasing its global collection of restaurants from 70 outlets today to more than 100 locations worldwide by 2025. Japan is a key market for the company, with 26 restaurants now operating across the country.
