Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach Sponsors Thanyapura’s Relay Triathlon 2019

Phuket, Thailand, April 2019 – Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach recently teamed up with Thanyapura Health & Sports Resort to host the annual “Relay Triathlon” in southern Thailand.

A total of 80 athletes took part in the event on 21st April 2019, which comprised 300-meter swimming events in Thanyapura’s Olympic-sized pool, 8km cycling races and 2km runs through the spectacular tropical countryside of Phuket.

A series of relay events were open to various age groups, including youth contests for athletes aged 12-14 years and 15-17 years, plus an open event. Following official Olympic standards, teams were comprised of four athletes and each member had to complete the full race distance.

As part of its sponsorship of the Relay Triathlon event, Phuket Marriott Resort and Spa, Nai Yang Beach rewarded the winners with a two-night stay including accommodation in a Deluxe Garden View room, daily breakfast and dinner at The Andaman Kitchen. The total prize value was THB 23,391!

The Relay Triathlon was presided over by Witcha Thongthammachart, Operations Director of Sport and Recreation at Thanyapura Health & Sports Resort. Other sponsors of the event included Vatemon, Perskindol and Unilever.
