Phuket – 1 March 2019: The Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation in collaboration with theworld acclaimed artist, Mr. Patrick REDL Wehrli (or simply known as REDL), he has created a graffiti art which spread over the 1.2 x 7 metre wall, under the theme of lively sea creatures in the underwater world. REDL is very pleased to work on this masterpiece recently, at the on-site Mai Khao Marine Turtle Shelter and Education Center, JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa.

A successful Swiss artist, graphic designer and illustrator, REDL is best known for his creative graffiti works that can be spotted throughout Switzerland and around the world. “The inspiration for the piece of art at Marine Turtle Shelter was pretty clear from the beginning. I tried to illustrate this amazing animal in his whole beauty. My goal is to change a white wall, in an interesting composition of an underwater world and it also helps to make the scene very vivid and alive” said, Artist Patrick REDL Wehrli.

About the Artist: Born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1969, Mr. Patrick REDL Wehrli developed a passion for drawing from an early age on. When the graffiti culture grew in Europe during the early eighties, he was immediately fascinated by this new form of creative expression and sprayed his first painting in 1983. Parallel to his preparatory course at the Zurich school of Arts
and his vocational training as a photo retoucher, REDL further developed his graffiti skills. The interplay of stone, steel, canvas and colour fascinated the young artist so much that he dedicated himself completely to this exciting new art form. In consequence, REDL became one of the main exponents of the Swiss graffiti scene in the 1990s. By travelling the world he expanded his artistic horizon and met some of the most important graffiti artists, which had a significant
influence on his work. In 1993, he founded artworks.ch and since then has worked as an artist, graphic designer and illustrator. In the past 20 years he completed projected at home and aboard for numerous companies, public institutions and private clients. His work ranges from graffiti art in Egypt for Orascom to logo design for the Zurich biotech company Molecular Partners. Other customers include Swiss Olympic, Openair Frauenfeld, Street Parade, the City of Zurich, Red Bul and many more. Today, REDL is an established graphic designer, illustrator and graffiti artist with a broad base of customers. His works can be found frequently on facades and in galleries in Switzerland. Since 2014 he works increasingly for international customers. REDL executed wall paintings in Belgium, Italy, Egypt, Hong Kong and Brazil.
